Group Product Manager, Waze

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in product management, or a related technical role.
  • 5 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc.).
  • 5 years of experience in people management, with technical leadership.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
  • 7 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales finance, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience operating in fast-paced, hyper-growth environments or startups, with the ability to scale products rapidly to achieve company goals.
  • Knowledge of building accessibility best practices, and experience incorporating accessibility into product development methodologies.
  • Ability to balance product reliability with innovation, specifically in the areas of AI-powered integrations or conversational tools.
  • Ability to develop and collaborate with go-to-market plans based on deep consumer insights and take products from ideas to successful market launch.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

As a Group Product Manager, you will provide senior managerial leadership to this team, fostering professional growth and setting strategic direction for complex portfolios. Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, you will lead, mentor, and scale a team of 5 Product Managers to elevate Waze as "the smart driving companion, tailored to you."

In this role, you will shape the product outlook, drive execution for 2027 and long-term growth, and enrich our hyperlocal ecosystem to deepen user engagement. Through close cross-functional collaboration, you will turn market insights into impactful innovations that make driving smarter and more personal.

Responsible for our product is a small team of talented, creative, and multidisciplinary product managers, UI experts and designers who work closely with R&D and our community to find new and innovative ways to enthuse our users. We are looking for creative individuals with a passion for the consumer mobile and social spaces to complement our team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, guide, and develop a high-performing team of Product Managers. Foster a culture of innovation by coaching your team on leveraging advanced technologies (like AI/ML) to solve complex user challenges.
  • Own and oversee the definition of product roadmaps and complex portfolios for strategic product areas. Advocate Waze’s integration into the AI era by setting the long-term outlook and guiding your team to identify and scale high-impact AI opportunities across the portfolio.
  • Own development and secure buy-in for a product outlook that identifies, defines, and supports the overall product narrative and direction. Own Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) by overseeing collaboration with partner teams during product design.
  • Oversee validation of market size and opportunity (e.g., user-based, strategic opportunity, business).
  • Participate in Waze community meetups and office hours, actively presenting to and engaging with the Waze communities.
