Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 11 years of experience in retail industry strategy, executive communications, enterprise sales enablement, or vertical marketing roles, or 8 years with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience building content for C-suite and Vice President audiences.
  • Knowledge of the retail industry landscape, macro trends, and the specific pain points of retail executives.
  • Ability to move with the rapid pace of change in industry and Google, partnering with cross-functional colleagues to deduplicate responsibility and progress priorities with intention.
  • Ability to build deep partnerships and align goals between Sales, Public Relations, and Marketing teams.
  • Ability to shape messaging that will ultimately be delivered by more executives.
  • Track record of navigating complex matrixed organizations.

The Strategic Insights team is the driving channel behind Google's industry-leading thought leadership. The team acts as close partners to Google LCS sales to curate and deliver forward-looking sales and business storytelling, fostering strategic dialogue, inspiring innovation, and strengthening CXO executive partnerships.

This team translates Google product evolution into strategically compelling sales narratives. Their thought leadership is featured in 1:1 engagement and, through close collaboration with Marketing, on our biggest stages - always with a customer-centric lens. As the storytelling engine in the Sales organization, the Strategic Insights Leads connect our most valued customers with the insights and solutions they need to navigate the complexities of AI and the future of marketing.

We continuously challenge how customers think about their business and how Google can support growth. We focus on helping these players navigate profound industry shifts and drive outsized business performance by competitively selling Google's full suite of advertising solutions across Search, YouTube, Measurement, and more. US: $142000 - $207000 (USD) + 75% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation of scaled executive engagement talking points and narratives. Focus on strategic growth areas prominent for CXO thought leadership.
  • Develop authoritative Google Point of Views regarding retail industry trends and solutions. Collaborate on main-stage keynotes and prepare post-event white papers to support Google as an indispensable partner to retail executives.
  • Collaborate with Sales leadership and leverage internal sales intelligence to understand strategic priorities and challenges, and address these via high-value thought leadership.
  • Partner with Marketing, Public Relations, GTM, and Sales to sequence messaging for maximum impact, in particular between high visibility events. For each event, ensure what is spoken on the main stage bridges to the closed-door bilateral meetings held by sales teams.
  • Leverage AI technology to enhance thought leadership, accelerate strategic development, and empower sales partners to activate insights and narrative materials.
