Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in product management or a related technical role, managing consumer or platform products.
- 3 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1).
- Experience building consumer-facing products for youth/teenagers, digital well-being, parental controls, or online trust and safety.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working on systems where the user experience is driven by machine learning or generative AI.
- Experience navigating global youth safety, privacy, and age-assurance regulatory frameworks in partnership with Policy, Legal, and Trust and Safety teams.
- Demonstrated track record of building age-appropriate product experiences, age assurance/prediction mechanisms, or parental supervision tools at global scale.
- Ability to act as a bridge across technical and non-technical teams, influencing executive stakeholders and driving product changes through evidence-based narratives.
- Strong product judgment with the ability to simplify complex socio-technical problems and balance product usefulness, creative agency, simplicity, trust, and safety.

The Gemini App organization is building a universal AI assistant designed to empower people, expand their curiosity, and help them learn, create, and solve problems across devices. Within the Gemini App team, the Youth Safety team is dedicated to ensuring that younger users (teens and children under 18) around the world have safe, age-appropriate, empowering, and positive experiences with generative AI.
As the Senior Product Manager for Gemini App Youth Safety, you will lead end-to-end product strategy and execution for the features, safeguards, and family controls on Gemini Apps. Operating at the intersection of consumer product innovation, AI safety research, and family trust, you will shape how younger generations interact with and benefit from generative AI. You will build core capabilities like family supervision tools, crisis support resources, and model use guardrails, while partnering closely with teams spanning AI Research, Engineering, UX, Trust and Safety, Kids and Family, and Legal to balance helpfulness, curiosity, and creativity with built-in protection and peace of mind for families worldwide.Artificial intelligence will be one of humanity’s most transformative inventions. Responsibilities
- Define and execute the product goal, strategy, and roadmap for keeping younger users safe on the Gemini app, owning products end-to-end from concept through launch and iteration.
- Design/ship foundational youth protection features globally, including age assurance integrations, parental controls and family link integrations, content guardrails, and access to crisis support and well-being resources in close collaboration with Google teams.
- Partner with Engineering and Safety teams to define youth-specific signals for safety classifiers and model behavior guidelines tailored for younger audiences.
- Ensure younger users can safely explore, learn, and create with AI by thoughtfully balancing helpfulness, simplicity, and creative agency with rigorous safety, privacy, and age-appropriateness across surfaces.
- Establish metrics and evaluation frameworks.
