- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or ecosystem management within the mobile apps or technology sector.
- Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across multiple levels of management.
- Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
Preferred qualifications:
- Deep understanding of advertising models and ad-supported app monetization strategies.
- Familiarity with emerging trends, "vibe coding," and AI-driven experiences.
- Proven ability to simplify complexity and align cross-functional and regional teams.
- Passion for driving innovation, sizing early-stage business opportunities, and navigating Android/Play.
- Comfortable managing ambiguity and operating independently under a managing director.
About the job
As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.
Google Play provides apps, games, and digital content services that bring Android devices to life. As part of the Platform and Devices team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from building deep developer partnerships to helping shape product strategy. The Play Store serves over three billion users around the world, and is a significant component of Google’s overall revenue growth.
The Play Partnerships team is responsible for seeking and building new business and product opportunities with Google's partners within a complex and evolving ecosystem. You will be part of the Google Play Partnerships team, focused on helping strategic Google partners build, grow and scale successful businesses using the Android platform and Google Play.
The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.US: $176000 - $255000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
- Drive dedicated focus on emerging trends and subverticals within the Apps ecosystem to capture new business growth.
- Identify, onboard, and manage commercial partnerships with selected developers, focusing on driving Android product integrations, developer and market growth, and revenue.
- Act as the global lead for strategic partner conversions, specifically targeting opportunities to build and/or optimize for Android surfaces and use cases.
- Rally and align cross-functional teams to pursue, resource, and scale growth opportunities.
- Refine partnerships approach, outreach plan, and cross-functional support for new strategic initiatives as the market evolves.
