Strategy and Operations Principal Lead, GTM, xWS gSO

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in management consulting, sales operations, business strategy, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or corporate advisory, or 6 years of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams including Engineering and Product Leads across multiple organizations.
  • Prior experience in analytical or GTM roles in fields like management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy and StratOps roles.
  • Demonstrated track record in successfully managing ambitious, strategic, and operationally complex projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing industry, tolerate significant ambiguity, influence senior stakeholders, and demonstrate problem-solving and thought leadership with limited or no oversight.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage data and analytics to deliver insights and recommendations for business direction and priorities.

About the job

As a Strategy and Operations Principal Lead, GTM, Extended Workforce Solutions (xWS) and gTech Strategy and Operations (gSO), you will work very closely with the xWS VP, Leads and other executive leaders across Alphabet on some of their most critical priorities. You will focus on partnering with the Tech leaders in xWS to define and develop the Tech and AI roadmaps for xWS.

You will be asked to scope, shape, lead and steer projects and drive impact across key strategic questions for the business. This will require you to simplify and effectively communicate these problems, lead and challenge stakeholders and collaborate with and influence cross-functional stakeholders across the business. You need to be able to ramp up quickly, understand business context, be comfortable with ambiguity and changing directions mid-way, prioritize and quickly recognize what is most critical. You’re a collaborative, data-driven, analytical problem solver who is able to effectively lead and manage multiple work streams, projects, and stakeholders across time zones on a global scale.

The Go-to-Market Operations (GtM) team ensures Google's complex and ever-evolving Ads business runs smoothly. We are instrumental in setting go-to-market strategy, and ensuring flawless execution and operations against the strategy. We have teams embedded in each of the major Ads business areas as well as global teams that work across the business areas. Team members are analytical and strategic, with a pragmatic sense of how to get things done.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $186000 - $270000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Partner with xWS tech leaders to define and execute end-to-end Tech and AI roadmaps for complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Identify critical business problems, distilling complex data into core issues and actionable, high-impact strategic recommendations.
  • Secure cross-functional buy-in across a large, matrixed organization, effectively landing solutions with executive stakeholders and leadership.
  • Launch organizational change plans for long-term initiatives, skillfully pivoting strategy based on stakeholder feedback and evolving needs.
  • Drive simultaneous execution of multiple initiatives while preemptively mitigating risks and collaborating across Google product areas.
