Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience building AI-powered experiences in a consumer software product space.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience managing programs across multiple geographic locations and time zones.
  • Experience making data-driven decisions to enable quality hillclimbs and understanding of genAI prompting.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and lead without authority in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to influence multiple executive stakeholders (e.g., directors) in a program space.
  • Excellent strategic judgment, with the ability to translate ambiguous goals into clear, actionable, and measurable objectives.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Search Experience team builds the Search Results Page (SRP) to fulfill the mission of exploring anything. Our goal is to provide a platform that is fast, deep, and effortlessly guides users through the world’s knowledge. This team maintains the core Google Search product while developing innovative AI-driven features, specifically focusing on the AI Mode (AIM) Experience to integrate the best of SRP into AI Overviews. Joining this team means leading programs that redefine how billions of users interact with Google Search daily.

As an AI Search Experience Technical Program Manager, you will drive key investments in AI-powered entity experiences. Your primary focus will be the goal, planning, and execution of a high-priority migration, transitioning legacy visual entities into rich, AI-enhanced experiences. You will serve as the connective tissue between product, engineering, and UX, leveraging both technical depth and organizational leadership. This is a high-impact opportunity to deliver an exceptional search experience for a global audience.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $192,000-$278,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive roadmaps for entity experiences across Search and AI platforms. Define project scope, build detailed program plans, and proactively manage risks to ensure timely delivery.
  • Design and execute a tiered communication strategy (VP to team level). Cultivate cross-functional relationships to advocate for program needs, facilitate decision-making, and navigate strategic pivots.
  • Partner across Search and technical organizations to align dependencies and timelines, ensuring seamless integration of deliverables across complex workstreams.
  • Improve and scale development by introducing measurable processes, best practices, and playbooks while creatively leveraging AI tools to optimize team efficiency.
  • Engage with the technical landscape to partner with Engineering, proactively identifying blockers and resolving complex issues to maintain momentum.
