Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience negotiating and structuring agreements or leading business development.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in the energy sector, focusing on renewable energy procurement, energy trading, or power market analysis.
- Experience leading high-stakes external energy negotiations in the EMEA region.
- Experience in preparing financial or market scenarios, evaluating energy deals, and participating in commercial contract negotiations.
- Deep knowledge of power generation technologies, regional energy market structures, and regulatory frameworks across multiple EMEA countries.
- Proven track record of originating leads and developing portfolio expansion opportunities.
- Familiarity with clean energy policy, utility regulations, or grid operations. Excellent investigative skills, strategic thinking, and ability to collaborate across complex, cross-functional global teams.

As a Strategic Negotiator, you combine your deep market knowledge of a given sector with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost-effective solutions to support Google's infrastructure growth. You'll work with specific project teams on negotiating deals, managing vendor and partner relationships and presenting deal recommendations to our Tech leadership. To support this growth, the Energy and Location Strategy (ELS) team strategically sites data centers globally, securing the critical resources, community partnerships, and infrastructure required for optimal expansion.
The Energy and Power (E and P) team delivers the affordable, reliable, and sustainable power infrastructure needed to run these sites. E and P focuses on three core objectives like securing high-reliability power across global markets, managing long-term portfolio costs and risks, and driving Google’s clean energy progress. By providing innovative technical solutions, partnering with industry leaders, and breaking down policy barriers, the E and P team meets Google's immediate energy needs while actively accelerating the broader global transition to a smarter, carbon-free electricity grid for everyone.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. Responsibilities
- Identify key energy partners and build/nurture executive level partnerships to support Google infrastructure expansion in Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to implement an energy-first strategy for data center growth in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), ensuring robust power availability and grid readiness for future sites.
- Originate and develop strategic opportunities for infrastructure expansion in emerging and frontier markets collaborating closely with governments, developers, utilities, regulators, and internal partner teams.
- Prepare market scenarios, evaluate potential commercial energy agreements, investments, and actively originate new potential data center sites supported by a robust energy procurement strategy.
- Lead and support high-stakes commercial negotiations and internal approval processes for power purchase agreements, energy supply agreements, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and grid/infrastructure agreements.
