Senior Director, Product Management, Better Together

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Design or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in product management including providing outlook, strategy development, data-influenced planning, prioritization, and directing launches.
  • 10 years of experience managing and leading product management organizations.
  • Experience building and leading a team of product managers and working with cross-functional and cross-product area partners.
  • Experience creating, executing, and delivering against a product roadmap to drive business impact.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience leading product management for global-scale platforms and premium consumer electronics.
  • Experience building and mentoring senior product management teams (i.e., Directors and Senior Managers).
  • Expertise in hardware/software co-design and navigating complex release cadences (e.g., Trunk Stable vs. ROM).
  • Ability to influence product strategy at the executive level and drive cross-functional alignment.
  • Passion for product excellence and an excellent craftmanship culture.

About the job

As Senior Director, you will lead a product management team that owns the strategy, roadmap, and landing for several areas that are critical to the Android Ecosystem strategy. You will be accountable for ensuring all of a user’s devices work seamlessly together, fundamentally driving up an user-first, ecosystem wide Net Promoter Score (NPS) by systematically improving the consumer experience across all their devices. You will be accountable for ensuring solid fundamental local area connectivity and multi-device frameworks that enable all of a user’s devices to work together. You will be the primary interface to all Android form factor teams (e.g., Auto, TV, XR, etc.) to ensure the core Android platform is supporting their needs and aligning requirements across the ecosystem.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $336000 - $467000 (USD) + 40% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Drive and deliver multi-device experiences including traditional device-to-device handover scenarios and emerging simultaneous use wearable experiences. 
  • Define the strategy and land multi-device frameworks that enable both seamless multi-device experiences and next level contextual awareness as an intrinsic part of an agentic future.
  • Align all the general managers for each Android form factor and our key OEM partners on a single roadmap for multi-device experiences and land them with the highest quality. 
  • Build and develop a product management team that embodies the value of “acting like an owner”.
  • Foster a healthy, unique, and high-performing culture rooted in "Radical Candor" and "First Principles."
