Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in partnerships, consulting, strategy, product, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in executive and internal communications.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience across any one of the following industries: media and entertainment, gaming, social, or sports.
  • Experience in managing and delivering strategy projects (e.g., strategic plan, new product launch) from inception to deployment.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, to solve complex problems, and to scale solutions effectively across a large and highly distributed organization.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, reflecting a nuanced approach to different audiences and ability to cultivate close working relationships with key leaders internally and externally.

About the job

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.

In this role, you will be a collaborative individual with a proven track record leading executive-level partnerships strategy, working cross-functionally to lead change, and drive impact with our partners and within Google. You will have experience in business development and partnerships, with the ability to identify long-term growth opportunities, and influence a cross-functional team to deliver against their goal. You will be an excellent communicator, comfortable presenting to partner CxOs and Google senior leaders. You will be able to quickly understand and operate with our processes, products, and teams to effectively manage our most complex and strategic partnerships.

As a Top Partner Manager and trusted thought partner to our leaders, you will shape how Google partners with our most strategic partners across industries. With your unique purview across all Google/Alphabet products and services, you'll design a long-term strategy to drive business growth and product priorities for Google while solving for your partners' greatest business challenges. You'll work cross-functionally internally and externally to provide valued counsel to senior executives, land and execute actionable recommendations, and lead new business opportunities/partnership workstreams.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $140000 - $203000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Direct high-impact agreement pursuits and lead cross-Google partnerships with key external stakeholders, managing complex relationships up to the CEO level.
  • Formulate and execute target partner strategies that align partner objectives with Google's core commercial growth and product priorities.
  • Lead cross-Product Area (xPA) executive alignment, delivering senior leadership briefing materials, establishing clear program objectives, and driving coordinated execution.
  • Act as the primary internal contact for teams engaging with shared partners, synchronizing sales and business development efforts to ensure complete operational cohesion.
  • Provide industry subject matter expertise on critical trends like GenAI, while running cross-Google business operations, including OKR reporting and leadership updates.
