Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of program management experience within design or UX organizations.
  • Experience with User Research, or Research focused tools and user centered methodologies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing interactive, design, or creative software projects.
  • Experience establishing tracking systems, managing bug triage, or operating quality pipelines (e.g., manual functional QA, visual QA).
  • Experience with design tools (e.g., Figma), design systems, and visual quality assurance workflows.
  • Passion for or experience with artificial intelligence, large language models (LLMs), and incorporating AI tools to enhance project productivity and improve deliverables.
  • Thorough knowledge of user-centered design, prototyping, and iterative development processes.
  • Proficient with project management tasks and Google Workspace tools.

UX Programs & Operations drives projects by increasing communication, streamlining the UX design process, and fostering a culture of user-centered development. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, to create industry-leading products based on user insights.

As a UX Program Manager, you will combine expert project management with a passion for user experience to improve the design of products used by billions. Your role is to plan projects, define milestones, assess risks, create actionable insights, and ensure deadlines are met. You will harmonize the work of various UX disciplines and cross-functional partners to drive team objectives and create innovative experiences.

The Ask and Answers team leads Search's AI transformation, driving design for products like AI Overviews, AI Mode, and Multimodal. Our UX Program and Operations group brings strategic thinking and clarity to help our talented UX teams execute against ambitious goals and build great products.

In this role, you will work with UX Program and Operations leaders to drive operational accuracy across the Ask and Answers portfolio. You will support cross-functional rhythms, project tracking, and our AIX Velocity goals. In close collaboration with UX and TPgM leadership, you will focus on elevating Product Excellence by building upon our quality-first foundation. This includes driving momentum around pre- and post-launch milestones, supporting pilots like VisQA, leading sprints for design cohesion, and addressing quality gaps.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $132000 - $189000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Design Excellence team to manage executive-level Product Excellence efforts and critical product initiatives.
  • Support the design system evolution across the team and Search by conducting audits, codification, and exploration to continually improve the patterns we use.
  • Manage the cross-AIX Review process to support broader AIX Velocity efforts, ensuring design work is reviewed effectively.
  • Partner with our broader UX Program and Operations team to elevate overall design operations, finding big and small wins to drive greater efficiency and transparency across our team.
  • Integrate internal AI-based tools into workflows to automate project tracking, streamline status reporting, and increase overall program effectiveness.
