Financial Analyst II, Cloud Central Finance

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.
  • Experience executing full-cycle FP&A functions including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and modeling within a multinational company setting.
  • Experience in project management or cross-functional initiatives.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience navigating fast-evolving environments, such as the scaling AI landscape.
  • Ability to deliver accurate, rapid-turnaround analysis under tight deadlines while keeping a clear view of overarching business goals.
  • Ability to build, scale, and maintain complex, P&L reporting with demonstrated skills in structuring ambiguous datasets and translating technical numbers into clear, actionable insights for product and sales leadership.
  • Exceptional business acumen and ability to identify inefficiencies, streamline data pipelines, and optimize legacy planning workflows.
  • Technical proficiency to leverage advanced analytics and latest AI productivity tools to automate modeling and reporting, eliminate manual overhead, and modernize traditional financial planning processes.

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

With your analytics and financial acuity, you'll liaise between the Finance team with the functional areas it supports. You resolve issues related to forecasting, planning, resource prioritization and business profitability, and you help translate analyses into easy-to-understand presentations.

The Cloud Central FP&A team's mission is to empower leadership with proactive, data-driven financial insights needed to turn long-term strategy into rigorous execution and profitable growth. We are the trusted, independent advisors to Cloud leadership, translating complex financial data into clear decision frameworks. Culturally, we operate as one unified team, deeply committed to cross-functional collaboration and dedicated to investing in the growth and development of every teammate.

This role will oversee the publication and analysis of Google Cloud Product P&Ls, empowering product leadership to make data-driven growth and profitability decisions. You will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution, guiding data teams to build scalable pipelines and precise cost-and-revenue allocation logic. As a key influencer, you will engage with a broad network of finance and business stakeholders across the Google Cloud organization.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $116000 - $167000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end P&L publication for Google Cloud products, overseeing the publication, maintenance, and variance analysis for actuals, annual planning, and monthly forecasting cycles.
  • Orchestrate the annual planning process, delivering precise product-level P&L carve-outs that adapt to the fast-paced evolution of the cloud business.
  • Drive a consistent, high-impact P&L reporting rhythm, proactively identifying business trends and providing granular insights to enhance stakeholder accountability and influence strategic direction.
  • Lead the automation and integration of AI tools within the P&L workstream to significantly improve operational efficiency, productivity, and reporting accuracy.
  • Manage complex, cross-functional projects across Finance, Engineering, Product, Strategy, and Operation and Go-To-Market organizations, ensuring alignment and timely delivery against demanding deadlines.
