Product Solutions Engineer, gUP Chrome and Search Distribution

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience working with client-side web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or HTTP).
  • 3 years of experience coding with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python).
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues for internal/external partners or customers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in an investigative role such as business intelligence, data analytics, or statistics.
  • 3 years of experience using Machine Learning and building solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt your message to the technical level of the audience and comfort presenting technical materials to groups of any size and background.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

In gTech Users and Products (gUP), our mission is to advocate for Google’s users by creating helpful and trusted experiences across the product ecosystem. We achieve this by meeting partners and consumers where they are with support and help, representing their needs with our product partners and proposing fixes and features that elevate their engagement with Google's diverse product ecosystem. Additionally we provide a range of product services that ensure our products are optimized for every user, no matter where they are in the world (e.g., localization, digitization, partner integration, and more).

In this role, you will be responsible for the technical relationship of our largest Distribution partners. You will collaborate with teams in Engineering, Business and Product Management to leverage emerging technologies for our internal or external clients/partners. From concept design and testing to data analysis and support, you'll own the technical execution and work with business operations to distribute products such as Chrome, Lens, Android apps, and more. You will balance business and partner needs with technical constraints, develop innovative, cutting edge solutions, and serve as a partner and consultant. You will also build tools and automate processes, oversee the technical execution and business operations of our products, as well as develop product strategy and prioritize projects and resources.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $127000 - $182000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our Product, Engineering, and Partnership teams. Develop cutting-edge solutions, provide consulting services to our partners, build lasting relationships, and be aware of the partner's needs.
  • Help partners in their day-to-day challenges by being the subject matter expert, delivering innovative and scalable solutions, and troubleshooting their technical issues.
  • Propose, design, create, and present proof-of-concept prototypes and demos to a wide variety of audiences, from engineers to marketing professionals.
  • Perform implementation reviews. Advocate for new product features, and provide partner feedback to internal cross-functional teams including Product Management and Engineering.
  • Deliver business intelligence. Leverage internal and external data sources to provide data insights to drive decision making.
