About the job

At Google, we "Focus on the user and all else will follow." Our Interaction Designers transform complex tasks into intuitive, easy-to-use experiences for billions of people. From creating user flows and wireframes to building mockups and prototypes, you will envision and bring product experiences to life with an inspired, refined, and magical feel. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

You will partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, UX Research, and Content Strategy to solve complex user problems at scale and deliver intuitive, high-impact experiences across Google Health workflows.

As a UX Designer, you will independently own end-to-end design workstreams within a high priority product area, from upstream problem framing and user journey mapping through high-fidelity prototyping, design system alignment, and launch readiness. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to turn ambiguous product challenges into cohesive, user centered solutions.

The mission of the Platform and Devices Health team is to empower users to live longer, healthier lives by seamlessly integrating Google AI into their health and wellness journeys. We are reimagining Fitbit to create an innovative, AI-first experience anchored in actionable coaching. You will provide continuous, proactive, and personalized guidance, including advanced fitness support and comprehensive sleep insights.

The Health Platforms and Devices team builds innovative products and services that help our users live longer, healthier lives. We bring together the best of Google technologies and AI, health behavior science, and user-centered design to help users organize the health and wellness data, get insight from it, and take action toward their health goals. We do this with a suite of apps, services, and health wearables. We aim to make consumer health more personal, proactive, and actionable.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, scope, and deliver high-craft interaction and visual design solutions across end-to-end user journeys with minimal oversight.
  • Identify patterns across features and workflows, anticipate edge cases and technical dependencies, and address root-cause user pain points rather than surface symptoms.
  • Collaborate daily with PM, Engineering, UX Research, and Content Design to align on priorities, trade-offs, and launch-readiness quality bars.
  • Partner with UX Researchers and leverage quantitative product metrics to validate hypotheses, iterate on prototypes, and communicate actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Apply and contribute to Google design systems, maintaining high visual and interaction polish across web and mobile surfaces.
