About the job

Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (Google Ads, AdSense, Google Marketing Platform, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the product and help it grow a consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across Sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end.

As a Product Marketing Manager (PMM) for Retail Ads, you will stand at the exciting intersection of product innovation, retail industry trends, and storytelling as we shape the future of agentic commerce. In this role, you will help reinvent how ads are utilized by retailers worldwide.

Our PMMs are the ultimate marketing product experts, possessing the unique ability into highly technical product design documents (PRDs) with Product Managers, and translate that complexity into clear, accessible, and engaging value propositions. You will bring a "maker's mentality" to the team—approaching issues with direct curiosity, building tangible assets, and proactively exploring how to leverage AI tools to scale your impact and optimize Go-to-Market (GTM) workflows.

US: $116000 - $167000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Define, execute, and scale the GTM strategy for new Google Ads features, formats, and platform capabilities. Lead the creation of positioning, value propositions, and external messaging.
  • Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, UX, Sales and PR to align product development with market needs and coordinate global launch plans.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to identify customer pain points, industry trends, and engaged threats. Synthesize these insights into actionable feedback for product teams.
  • Develop external collateral, presentations, case studies, and training materials to enable global sales and partner teams.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for product adoption and usage, analyzing performance data to optimize ongoing marketing campaigns and product-led growth initiatives.
