Cloud Responsible AI Program Manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 5 years of experience in trust and safety.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with a Cloud service or an API product in B2B context.
  • Experience developing AI related products.
  • Experience with development or maintenance of policy and identifying associated risks.
  • Experience with performance in risk management at the project and organization levels.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) and the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

Google’s Cloud Responsible AI team is guided by Google’s AI Principles and mission of making information universally accessible and useful by working to ensure our AI products work well for everyone. The team builds customer and industry trust in Cloud AI products and helps differentiate Google Cloud from participants through products, programming, and tooling.

The team partners with product engineers, public policy specialists, product council, data scientists, and researchers across Google, launching AI products that are at the forefront of technical innovation as well as responsible design. We collaborate to identify new ways of thinking about Responsible AI opportunities, potential risks of harm, and concrete paths forward. We value and incorporate foundational research as well as applied knowledge and expert perspectives from traditionally various communities. This socio-technical research method drives data-driven decisions for Google Cloud’s AI products and solutions.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $159000 - $230000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Refine and implement Responsible AI governance frameworks, prioritizing product offerings with higher risk profiles and determining safety standards for enterprise products. Lead pre-launch safety testing and analysis to ensure all Cloud AI products align with Google's ethical principles.
  • Develop and operationalize systems that enhance internal transparency and ensure adherence to global regulatory requirements, such as the EU AI Act and ISO 42001.
  • Develop program roadmaps focused on customer trust through solutions that prepare clients for AI regulation and prevent potential harm.
  • Engage with enterprise customers to gather feedback and deliver offerings like the RAI workshop, and best practices documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive the success of AI products and solutions. Work closely with partners to ensure Responsible AI principles are integrated throughout the entire AI lifecycle.
