Network Implementation Engineer

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer 2/3 routers, and data services.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with local telecom service providers (Colocations).
  • Experience with local regulatory standards, procedures and requirements to execute network infrastructure installations.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple levels and functions.
  • Ability to engage and influence tactical and strategic decision-making.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

The Network Delivery Implementation team builds and operates the future of Google's global network, connecting billions of users to our expanding services and enabling the world's imagination with dependable, universal connectivity. We own the full network lifecycle in our data centers and metro points of presence, driving continuous reliability, efficiency, and rapid service activation to meet the ever-growing demands of a connected world, with the vision to make connectivity ubiquitous between every machine and every user on the Internet.

You will be a key contributor as a member of the Global Network Delivery team, directly impacting Google's ability to deliver network capacity to its customers. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of network delivery through automation and process innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Google's network reliably and at scale, with a focus on workflow automation and efficiency.
  • Drive adaptable and scalable approaches, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize network deployment cycle time and operational costs through process improvements.
  • Own an area of responsibility, addressing issues, anticipating needs and escalating as necessary, while identifying automation opportunities to improve efficiency and prevent reoccurring failure modes.
  • Maintain accurate network data to drive operational excellence.
