Operational Technology Security Technical Program Manager, Third-Party Data Centers

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operational and Industrial Engineering, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with mission-critical industrial monitoring and control systems site operations.
  • 5 years of experience with information security for industrial control systems Operational Technology (OT).
  • Experience in control systems and plant health (e.g., operational and control systems, alarm management, system/process FPY, failure rates, statistical/process control).

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of site or control room experience in infrastructure operations, data center operations, manufacturing, control system design, or technology based business units.
  • Direct experience with information security incidents and threat assessments (e.g., incident response, penetration testing, vulnerability assessments).
  • Experience with SQL, dashboarding and advanced data analytics/statistical analysis.
  • Ability to operate in a technical environment (e.g., agile, adaptable).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with site personnel and drive need-finding, data collection, compliance assessments, business cases, and resulting continuous improvements.

Our team of data center operational technology security Technical Program Manager (TPgMs) is chartered to innovate, design, and standardize mission critical systems to improve the cybersecurity posture across Google’s data center facilities worldwide.

We bring operational experience, deep technical knowledge of system administration, network engineering, cybersecurity expertise, and operational excellence together to help scale critical data center cybersecurity products, services and programs for the growing Google Cloud division. Our organization works alongside Security Engineering, Network Engineering, Network Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, Data Center Software and Engineering teams, and Facility Operations to secure and monitor the operational efficiency and security of data center power and cooling systems. This includes risk analysis, prioritization, development, and continuous improvement of both physical system infrastructure and operator facing software.

US: $192000 - $278000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, measure, and secure operational maturity for new greenfield and brownfield facilities during the commissioning phase of the data center lifecycle. Partner with EXE, GGI, and CorpEng teams to validate facility maturity at FR (Facility Readiness) and manage dependencies during new site turn-ups.
  • Coordinate with commissioning teams to configure network infrastructure (such as ngICN/FacNet) in time to provision hosting platforms (such as OTHP) and drive cybersecurity resilience from day.
  • Partner with unified Developer and third Party Solutions and 3PDC execution teams to integrate Google OT security standards (Yawn) into E2-E5 environments. Strategize the deployment of cybersecurity tools (e.g., OTHP, OTZK, Nexus, SEA) and replace legacy switches with standardized SCADA designs in E2-E5 sites.
  • Protect third-party data center environments against nation-state cyber threats, managing the transition of SCADA systems while maintaining appropriate control system operations.
