Business Development and Major Label Partnerships Manager, YouTube

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or music licensing.
  • Experience assisting in negotiating digital content licensing or distribution agreements.
  • Experience using data to identify business trends, project growth, and present recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Experience working cross-functionally across product and management teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing complex end-to-end partnerships at a digital platform, record label, or streaming service.
  • Experience in ad-supported and subscription business models.
  • Experience with agreement and financial analysis, and performance-driven distribution and with data systems or data analytics in support of strategic analysis.
  • Understanding of digital music copyright, licensing, or digital royalty financial models.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, present data and conclusions in compelling ways, and work autonomously in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

About the job

The Music Label Business Development and Partnerships team serves as a strategic commercial bridge within YouTube Music. The team is responsible for driving the commercial strategy, negotiating high-impact content licensing agreements, and managing long-term strategic relationships with major recorded music labels and independent music distributors. US: $112000 - $161000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of strategic renewals and licensing agreements with recorded music labels and distributors and assist in the development of new licensing go-to-market strategies in partnership with cross-functional teams for next-generation format initiatives.
  • Help prioritize new business opportunities, triage digital rights management issues, and resolve partner challenges efficiently.
  • Utilize data to monitor key performance trends, prepare recommendations, and support regular partner reviews and performance updates.
  • Serve as a day-to-day commercial point of contact for a portfolio of music labels, or music distributors.
  • Coordinate the resolution of partner issues and escalations while facilitating internal stakeholder approvals and partner with key internal stakeholders to ensure alignment, execution, and clear communication across projects.
