About the job

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. While working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to solve big picture challenges.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between external macroeconomic dynamics, competitive market movements, and commercial execution. Operating as a strategic advisor, you will synthesize complex macroeconomic signals (inflation, monetary policy, consumer sentiment, regional ad spend forecasts) and competitive share of wallet (SoW) shifts into actionable commercial intelligence. You will directly inform commercial steering, risk governance, and executive decision-making for senior leadership, including the Vice President of EMEA Global Business Organization (GBO) and the Senior Finance Director of EMEA GBO.

You are an AI-Pioneer, a skilled problem solver and an econometric thinker who thrives in ambiguity. You possess a knack for identifying emerging inflection points within multi-dimensional datasets and have the executive presence to distill sophisticated market phenomena into succinct, executive narratives. Embracing our mission to be AI-Enabled CFOs of GBO, you will harness cutting-edge Generative AI and automated ingestion workflows to analyze broker research, central bank commentary, and competitor filings at scale.

The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Translate macroeconomic data, central bank notes, and broker forecasts into commercial insights for EMEA Large Customer Sales (LCS). Provide macro scenario analysis to evaluate advertiser demand shifts across core EMEA markets.
  • Evaluate quarterly competitive dynamics across digital ad formats and cross-border disruptors. Conduct Alphabet and competitor earnings readouts highlighting market share shifts and industry growth.
  • Maintain category mapping rules and dataset integrity in Connect Sales SoW repositories. Conduct macro horizon scanning and regulatory risk sizing with Legal, GTM and Government Affairs.
  • Quantify financial exposure bounds and scenario models for Leadership Reviews. Feed macroeconomic insights into central executive storytelling and strategic narratives.
  • Perform impact sizing and diagnostics for pilots and strategic workstreams. Deploy Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI agents to automate ingestion and synthesis of market research.
