Head of Product Deployment Engineering

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience troubleshooting technical issues for internal/external partners or customers.
  • 3 years of experience in people management.
  • Experience in either system design or reading code (e.g., Java, C++, Python).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or Applied Science, or a related field.
  • 15 years of experience managing projects and working with analytics, software coding, or customer-side web technologies.
  • Experience building and maintaining internal and external stakeholder networks, with a track record of navigating complex corporate structures to deliver against strategic plans.
  • Knowledge of the online advertising/customer growth role and familiarity with the ad serving industry and internet technologies.
  • Ability to navigate highly ambiguous situations, solve complex technical or business problems, and scale solutions.

About the job

As the Product Deployment Engineering (PDE) Manager, you are the strategic leader and primary link between gTech Ads, Google Customer Solutions (GCS) regional leadership, and PSA. You unify these functions to graduate customers along the product adoption maturity curve. A critical mandate involves liaising with GCS PSA Leaders, Global Product Leads, and the Ads Solutions Engineering CoE to deploy excellent implementations. Your team critically assesses customer needs to drive advanced product adoption.

You serve as a product advocate for gTech Ads for complex technical product deployment. This role balances the operational management of a specialized technical team with the execution of high-impact, regional media and product business strategies.

Operationally, you will guide a high-performing team of Product Deployment Engineers (PDEs) through complex technical projects and advanced implementations. Strategically, you will act as the principal advisor to gTech Ads GCS, owning the complex implementation strategy across the region. You partner with implementation program managers, PSA leads, and regional sales directors to accelerate product adoption.

You will act as a trusted advisor to align technical service delivery with media activation opportunities, balancing engineering support with sales targets and partner with global/regional product leaders and technical program managers to align resource allocation with market-specific goals, guide vendor execution, and provide technical mentorship to engineers. You will collaborate with Ads Solutions Engineering to drive the automation roadmap and development by delivering technical Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and prioritizing impactGoogle creates products and services that make the world a better place, and gTech’s role is to help bring them to life. Responsibilities

  • Integrate gTech's value proposition into GCS sales strategies and adapt global/regional data activation strategies to meet localized market needs alongside PSA counterparts.
  • Oversee advanced implementations and custom CRM/API workarounds, while actively identifying scaling best practices to transition bespoke fixes into repeatable frameworks.
  • Partner with cross-cluster product communities and Ads Solutions Engineering (ASE) to define technical tooling requirements (BRDs) that automate and scale implementation delivery. Define best practices and work with agents to scale implementations.
  • Deploy scarce, high-value technical resources toward high-opportunity sectors, establishing robust metrics and case studies to quantify the business value delivered.
  • Manage, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of PDEs, fostering a high-impact, and entrepreneurial culture.
