About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

At Google, we own and operate the most advanced fleet of data centers and core technical infrastructure to power services and features used by people around the world. Data Centers Central Operations is responsible for keeping these sites operating efficiently and safely.

Within the Data Center Central Operations function, our Spares Readiness team will be accountable for improvement/sustainment programs that support our mission of assuring that data centers have their spare parts available to them when they need them.

The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. We are an upbeat, creative, team-oriented group of engineers committed to building and operating powerful data centers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts during emergency recovery events to help operations identify, find, and receive spare parts for repairs.
  • Balance project data and analytics and stakeholder input, and use levers to improve project performance against expectations and milestones.
  • Establish strong and aligned linkages to our supply chain partner teams in planning, procurement, global commodity management, and logistics to provide exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate/lead project work between field and central operations, manufacturers, engineering, and administrative vendor groups to identify and create Google part numbers for unique critical spare parts.
  • Work closely with site leaders, site teams, and cross-functional teams to identify gaps, make improvement recommendations, orchestrate change, and establish robust relationships.
