Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in solution-based selling, advertising, consulting, digital marketing, or business development.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Japanese fluently in order to interact with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA degree.
  • Experience in managing large advertising budgets and campaigns, and building relationships with C-suite executives and proven track record as a sales representative in marketing and advertising.
  • Broad and deep understanding of both brand marketing and performance marketing, as well as full funnel Google Ads solutions.
  • Excellent strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with ability to work in ambiguity, operating with limited guidance.
  • Excellent leadership, organization, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Passionate about helping traditional Japanese companies transform their marketing and business strategy and well versed in today’s media landscape across offline and online.

As an Industry Manager, you will develop and provide integrated marketing solutions for key auto advertisers in Japan. You will build and manage executive business plans, strategy, and relationships with C-suite executives and their agencies, to better understand larger business goals and challenges, and ensure that our clients needs and requirements are met. You will drive and grow new and existing businesses with clients by creating joint business plans to build solid and sustainable business partnerships. You’ll also work cross-functionally within Google on the broader digital transformation of the auto industries, developing holistic solutions for our clients. This is a client-facing sales role requiring deep industry expertise.

Google's Large Customer Sales (LCS) teams are strategic partners and industry thought leaders to the world's leading brands and agencies. We continuously challenge how customers think about their business and how Google can support growth. We focus on helping these players navigate profound industry shifts and drive outsized business performance by competitively selling Google's full suite of advertising solutions across Search, YouTube, Measurement, and more. As a member of our LCS team, you'll have the unique opportunity to sell at the forefront of technology, collaborating with executives, influencing market-shaping strategies, and delivering tangible results that significantly impact major global businesses and drive the growth of Google.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute high-impact sales strategies and Joint Business Plans (JBPs) for key auto clients, navigating ambiguous industry landscapes to deliver transformative solutions using Google's technologies (including AI and cross-channel platforms).
  • Establish and nurture trusted C-level relationships with primary decision-makers, serving as an industry thought partner to shape client strategy and cement Google’s market presence.
  • Oversee end-to-end project management across complex workstreams, aligning internal cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive, differentiated OneGoogle solutions that maximize client and business impact.
  • Synthesize and abstract key takeaways from both successes and setbacks, actively developing and sharing scalable insights, playbooks, and best practices to elevate collective knowledge
  • Drive high-velocity execution and positive team momentum, demonstrating strong ownership and passion to inspire, mentor, and elevate the broader organization.
