About the job

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

In this role, you will be responsible for the successful planning and delivery of our APAC Third-Party Data Center (3PDC) portfolio. You will be involved in every aspect of strategic and tactical implementation of end-to-end data center delivery, and will partner with strategic negotiators, project managers, engineers, and operations teams as well as with our data center service providers, to develop creative and scalable solutions for the delivery of data centers that meet our operational requirements. You will be responsible for leading the strategic execution of the add, moves, and changes program across the APAC 3PDC portfolio, which includes capacity expansions, and infrastructure modifications driven by hardware refreshes.

The AI and Infrastructure team is redefining what’s possible. We empower Google customers with breakthrough capabilities and insights by delivering AI and Infrastructure at unparalleled scale, efficiency, reliability and velocity. Our customers include Googlers, Google Cloud customers, and billions of Google users worldwide.

We're the driving team behind Google's groundbreaking innovations, empowering the development of our AI models, delivering unparalleled computing power to global services, and providing the essential platforms that enable developers to build the future. From software to hardware our teams are shaping the future of world-leading hyperscale computing, with key teams working on the development of our TPUs, Vertex AI for Google Cloud, Google Global Networking, Data Center operations, systems research, and much more.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end execution of mission-critical projects across the global 3PDC fleet, navigating the technical and operational complexities of scaling infrastructure across regions, vendors, and regulatory environments.
  • Partner with internal and external partners and negotiators to develop creative and scalable solutions. Serve as the primary bridge between internal engineering teams and external facility partners.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for third-party data center providers to hold them accountable to SLAs and technical specifications.
  • Mitigate potential issues that could impact project timelines or budgets. Maintain a forward-looking perspective on resource needs, ensuring that master planning, utilities, design engagement, and equipment supply chain remain ahead of project demand.
  • Lead the strategic execution of the global project portfolio, including new site builds, capacity expansions, and hardware lifecycle refreshes. Manage large-scale capital and operational expenditure budgets.
