Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience as an enterprise architect or equivalent experience in a customer-facing role.
- Experience in cloud market insights and cloud computing across applications, infrastructure, storage, platforms, or data.
- Experience with modern artificial intelligence (AI) paradigms, generative AI, and data technologies, including experience reviewing technical solutions.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with software lifecycles, building tools, and architecting and developing software for scalable, distributed systems, including data platform, AI/ML and infrastructure.
- Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders, including tailoring and delivering compelling messages by audience, asking strategic questions, and leading conversations that drive business opportunity.
- Experience in architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.

The Field Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Office team is a group of key engineering executives who serve the Google for high-level customer meetings and presentations. We are excellent public speakers who add differentiated value in high-stakes environments. All of our members possess deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AI, and public sector.Google Public Sector brings the magic of Google to the mission of government and education with solutions purpose-built for enterprises. We focus on helping United States public sector institutions accelerate their digital transformations, and we continue to make significant investments and grow our team to meet the complex needs of local, state and federal government and educational institutions.
US: $192000 - $267000 (USD) + 42.86% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
- Step into high-stakes executive meetings that require a deft touch and deep technical understanding. Take on speaking engagements that have the potential to be market movers.
- Build trust and collaborate with other Product Areas like DeepMind (GDM), Geo, Research, and Jigsaw to co-design solutions alongside our customers. Help build out massive initiatives like Gemini for Science, Gemini for Policy Making, and Threat Management for Governments.
- Act as mentor across GPS Customer Engineering. Elevate the entire team through podcasts, internal training, and real-time position papers that decode market changes.
- Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required (can vary, on average ~50%).
