Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience building software for data privacy or security (e.g., identity and access management).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 4 years of software development experience, demonstrating increasing independence and ownership. Experience building back-end systems, services, and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
  • Experience with security engineering concepts such as access control, authentication, authorization, cryptography, and network security.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, data engineering/analytics through SQL and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and AI-agent/services orchestration.
  • Familiarity with Linux fundamentals, system monitoring and logging tools.

We are engineering an intelligent risk management ecosystem to enhance gTech and Google’s global risk posture, through risk quantification, self-healing remediation routines, shifting left from incident detection to prediction, and autonomous, self-serve access controls.

In this role, you will build intelligent production platforms that redefine observability, threat response and enable defense in depth for our massive user base. You will deploy scalable security technologies and decisioning algorithms that empower our global business footprint. You will be technically fearless, action-oriented pioneering engineer ready to advocate security from initial design to global deployment.The Global Business Organization (GBO) is the engine that powers Google’s full ecosystem of products and services to help customers and partners succeed and grow. GBO includes the commercial arms of Ads sellers, business development teams, and customer services and support, as well as overlay programs that enable coordinated engagement with Google's most complex and important customers and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Assume ownership of critical systems related to insider risk, incident detection, and automated agentic access management, conceptualizing and planning their architecture.
  • Architect and lead the implementation of AI agentic workflows through agentic orchestration platforms integrated with distributed data storage systems and Gemini/Vertex APIs, and development of server-side logic for micro-services using Python, Java, or C/C++.
  • Design automated vulnerability management infrastructures, including autonomous self-healing systems, advanced scanners with native system integrations.
  • Engineer programmatic software solutions and automation to enforce strict, scalable permission models. Pioneer and oversee the development of scanning tools, automated logging solutions, and robust detection pipelines preventing data leaks.
  • Oversee deployments and scale containerized applications on production infrastructure to GCP. Define infrastructure-as-code, policy-as-code strategies and DevOps pipelines across the team. Drive the adoption of advanced authentication, authorization, and data encryption best practices.
