Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
- Experience with statistical analysis and analytics frameworks.
- Experience with testing, debugging, and deployment in C++ and Python.
- Experience with distributed systems.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- Experience with one or more of the following: analysis, databases, experimentation, networking, optimization, or storage systems.
- Experience in software development and operating systems.

Responsibilities
- Build a deep understanding of Google’s Infrastructure Storage System and how its components perform optimally using defined metrics, insightful statistics, and explanatory models.
- Characterize inefficient behaviors and irregular anomalies and identify the causes of such behaviors.
- Propose deployment efficiency improvements to the design architecture, system monitoring, resource provisioning, and production operations policies.
- Engage in research with leading academic institutions and industrial vendors and thus provide guidance to storage engineering functions.
