Software Engineer, Pixel Quality

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, etc.).
  • 1 year of experience with full-stack or mobile Android development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • Experience with Generative AI, large language models (LLMs), especially in the development of AI agents or agentic frameworks.
  • Experience with building automation system, or testing infrastructure.
  • Ability to lead and drive projects and ramp up and learn quickly in a technically complex domain.
  • Ability to collaborate well both within and outside the team.
  • Strong mobile software engineering practice with strong domain knowledge with Android and Android development process.

As a member of the Pixel Quality team, you will be at the forefront of ensuring a seamless and delightful user experience for millions. By joining us, you will build the systems that accelerate and enhance the workflow of our feature developers, revolutionizing how we approach software quality. You will collaborate closely with exceptional teams across multiple regions (MTV/APAC) spanning software development, feature tuning, advanced infra/tooling, and product integration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of innovative software engineering solutions that strategically address core business objectives and elevate the Pixel experience.
  • Take deep pride and active ownership of your code, development processes, and the final product to ensure the highest standards of delivery.
  • Guarantee product excellence, technical robustness, and optimal system performance across all your initiatives.
  • Apply and advocate for engineering best practices, including robust functional and performance testing, instrumentation, and data-driven experimentation.
  • Partner closely with global teams across Google to integrate features, tune performance, and share technical insights. Play a pivotal role in propelling the team toward our long-term strategic goals, particularly in adopting and scaling our AI-powered quality infrastructure.
