Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cognitive science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Linguistics,or a related field or or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in Conversation Design, Content Design, with equivalent experience designing for conversational AI/LLMs.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in vibe-coding and developing AI-powered prototypes.
  • Experience in guiding cross-functional teams through ideation, validation, and iteration processes, transforming abstract ideas into shippable products.
  • Experience developing in a startup environment, comfortable with the ambiguity, rapid iteration, and resourcefulness required to deliver impactful designs in a fast-paced, evolving landscape.
  • Experience in interaction design.
  • Familiarity with behavioral data and strong capability to create data-driven designs, while being equally capable of moving forward in the absence of data.

We are seeking a highly experienced, visionary designer to shape the evolution of conversational AI from a passive responder into a proactive partner.

As a senior member of the Gemini App Model UX team, you will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and research scientists to build end-to-end product experiences to improve people’s engagement with Gemini across use cases. Responsibilities

  • Apply deep understanding of model capabilities to guide prompt engineering and prototyping strategies, ensuring the delivery of consistently high-quality model outputs.
  • Initiate qualitative assessments of model performance, applying mastery of the eval process to develop a strategy for continuous quality hillclimbing.
  • Partner with AI product designers to craft leading-edge multimodal solutions, ensuring model responses and UI components work in concert to deliver cohesive, high quality experiences.
  • Stay current on the latest design trends and technologies, in consumer technology, generative AI and natural language processing, and leverage this knowledge to innovate.
