Product Manager II, YouTube Generative AI Security

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in product management, including taking technical consumer products from conception to launch.
  • 2 years of experience developing AI and Security technologies to define technical product features.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to executive leadership.
  • Experience in security, AI/ML, risk management and anti-abuse prevention.
  • Understanding of the evolving landscape of security risks in the AI context including agentic workflows.
  • Excellent partnership skills, with the ability to navigate complex, high-stakes stakeholder environments.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

The YouTube AI Safety team is responsible for the end-to-end safety and security of YouTube's Generative AI products.

Increasingly YouTube features leverage Generative AI as a backbone (including Search with Ask on Search). In this role, you will define the risk principles for all of YouTube. You will then build defense-in-depth strategy and build the systems, tools, process to systematically mitigate.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $163000 - $237000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Define and support the end-to-end product strategy and multi-year roadmap for AI Security within YouTube.
  • Drive a comprehensive AI security awareness for all YouTube developers, fostering a culture of secure coding and proactive threat modeling for AI-powered features.
  • Manage the full product life-cycle for key security initiatives, ensuring high-impact delivery and measurable risk reduction.
  • Collaborate with Research and Engineering to deliver AI-powered security features that anticipate rapidly evolving cyber threats to defend YouTube including Ask on Search, and Ask on Watch.
  • Lead the team through defining, identifying, collecting, and tracking appropriate product or business metrics, both quantitative and qualitative for new or existing products.
