APAC Transportation Operations Manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience analyzing data and generating business insights.
  • 7 years of experience developing operational process solutions, and working with cross-functional teams.
  • 5 years of experience managing transportation as shipper side with involvement in Contract manufactures or OEM suppliers.
  • 5 years of experience working with, supervising, and managing third-party logistics relationships and managing control towers as shipper and setting metrics or third-party Logistics.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in a related field or CSCMP certification.
  • 7 years of experience using data analysis to drive decision making.
  • 7 years of experience building relationships with stakeholders or clients.
  • 5 years of experience working and improving the process for shipping forecasts for Air cargo.
  • Experience in data center equipment environments or computer component manufacturing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to apply structured thinking and logic to your work and provide solutions to challenges.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. We are part of the Global transportation team who manages the full lifecycle of transportation operations, ensuring reliable, secure, and sustainable movement of goods. Core responsibilities include Transportation Enablement and Execution, Transportation Management System (TMS) Planning, and Carrier Diversification to enhance network flexibility and performance. Additionally, the team upholds Transportation Security standards and drives Sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact while supporting efficient, future-ready logistics operations.

This team manages the end-to-end transportation across 13 APAC countries, Including over 100 suppliers and 6 contract manufacturers through multimodal transport network including air, road, ocean Full Container Load/Less than Container Load (FCL/LCL), and sea-air solutions. We run the daily execution of all transportation activities for IN and OUT of APAC region. We ensure on-time delivery and we manage disruptions to protect regional supply chain velocity and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Create a process to support transportation shipments within google for CMs and suppliers. Set a new control tower support and best practices for shipment management.
  • Work on end to end shipments for CMs and suppliers serving as the primary regional escalation contact for carrier delays, customs clearance, and disruptions.
  • Analyze freight spend and evaluating mode shifts (air vs. ocean/road) to minimize expedite costs.
  • Operate Control Tower systems independently to monitor shipments and leverage AI tools to automate routine tasks.
  • Create standard operating procedures, playbooks, runbooks, and templates to break information silos through open, transparent communication.
