  • 5 years of experience developing performance oriented storage solutions, including datapath modules.
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures and algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization including technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.

As a Storage Staff Software Engineer in the datapath team, you will design and implement advanced storage solutions tailored for AI/ML workloads on Google Cloud Platform. You will address complex system design challenges, develop production-ready code, and contribute to fast-paced incubation projects. Your role involves developing benchmarks, resolving performance issues and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bridge storage infrastructure with evolving AI/ML demands, from training to inference.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. We deliver enterprise-grade solutions that leverage Google’s technology, and tools that help developers build more sustainably. Customers in more than 200 countries and territories turn to Google Cloud as their trusted partner to enable growth and solve their most critical business problems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement high-complexity features, delivering robust, production-ready code for storage solutions that address the specific demands of AI/ML workloads.
  • Architect scalable and performant storage solutions, driving the technical design for features and making data-driven decisions to optimize system efficiency and reliability.
  • Adapt to fast-paced development cycles for new technical domains.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and intricate system issues, developing innovative, practical solutions to technical challenges that arise at the intersection of storage and machine learning.
  • Partner with product and engineering stakeholders across the storage domain to deliver high-complexity features and products.
