Customer Engineer, AI Natives, Junior Talent Programme (Dutch, English)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related STEM discipline (e.g., Computer Engineering, Information Systems), or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience programming or scripting in one or more modern languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java, C++) with experience in fundamental Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA).
  • Experience working with databases (SQL or NoSQL), web technologies (APIs, HTTP), or cloud infrastructure through coursework, internships, personal projects, or professional experience.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Dutch fluently to interact with local stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience participating in hackathons, contributing to open-source projects, or building and deploying personal applications/tools.
  • Experience working with Large Language Model (LLM) APIs, prompt engineering, vector databases, or building basic Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications or simple conversational agents.
  • Experience communicating technical concepts to different audiences.
  • Experience working in collaborative environments (such as team projects, customer service, or technical residency programs) with an ability to adapt quickly to changing customer needs and new technical domains.
  • Strong debugging skills and familiarity with configuring developer environments (e.g., using Docker or basic Linux command line tools).

As a Customer Engineer (CE), you will play a pivotal role in supporting the pre-sales lifecycle and technical validation phases. You will act as an early-career builder-CE establishing credibility and excitement by assembling, debugging, and spinning up rapid, real-time prototypes and interactive demos directly for customers.

In this role, you will partner closely with senior CEs and Sales teams to understand customer environments, map out their technical needs, and showcase the art of the possible across the full Google Cloud portfolio. As an AI-savvy, professional who is adept at leveraging AI tools, you will address all Platform CE topics across the entire portfolio.Your primary focus is supporting the technical win through customer intimacy, architecture advisory and execution. By maintaining a strong builder mindset, you will write clean demo code, troubleshoot API integrations, and help transition projects to post-sales teams to ensure customer workloads are successfully deployed and adopted.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

  • Help build creative solutions to challenging customer needs using Google Cloud. Improve product feature offerings by providing customer feedback to internal cross-functional teams including Product Management and Engineering.
  • Collaborate with customers and other Googlers to manage and drive successful adoption of Google Cloud. Help develop recommendations for solution architectures and consulting services.
  • Guide customers through the entire innovation lifecycle, building strategic roadmaps and driving achievement of key milestones.
  • Solve customers operational issues through problem solving and technical troubleshooting, while working with internal teams to drive resolution. Help customers get answers to product questions.
  • Learn and adopt the latest AI, machine learning, and cloud technologies. Gather feedback from builders and developers in the field and share insights with Google Cloud Product and Engineering teams to help improve our developer tools.
