Technical Lead Manager, Search Ads UI and Experience

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience programming in Java or C++.
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • Experience in software development, with frontend development and UI thinking.
  • Experience leveraging Generative AI/LLMs for user facing problems.
  • Experience using developer AI tools, LLMs, or Gemini across the software development life cycle.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction and working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
  • Prior search/ads experience or general experience of building at the intersection of UI, metrics and may be AI in consumer space.
  • Good product and UX intuition and rapid hypothesis testing.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $207000 - $301000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Be the technical linchpin shaping both the product goal and the engineering culture, working closely with UX, product manager and engineers leads across Search and Ads teams to align strategies and deliver cohesive, exceptional experiences.
  • Architect novel full-stack experiences for search ads that elevate user expectations and delight, while delivering Long-term revenue per mille (LTRPM).
  • Drive the adoption of DevAI tools to accelerate end-to-end prototyping, and build systems that automate analysis and optimization at scale.
  • Navigate a rapidly evolving Applied AI ecosystem, growing relationship with Research organizations (AdsAI and DM) and chart long-term technical strategy for our e2e architecture, ensuring our infrastructure remains agile and ahead of the curve for years to come.
  • Drive 10x better ad experiences compared to what we have today in the world of AI that is evolving continuously.
