Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack, Labs

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
  • 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience with machine learning principles and AI agent development.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Experience in Performance Optimization, Performance Tuning, Operating Systems, Virtual Machines, etc.

As part of the AIDA (AI Developer Assistant) team within Google Labs, you will build and launch AI products that revolutionize how software is designed, developed, and maintained. Our mission is to amplify developer creativity and productivity, improve software quality, and make software creation accessible to everyone through AI-powered tools.

Labs is a group focused on incubating early-stage efforts in support of Google’s mission to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. Our team exists to help discover and create new ways to advance our core products through exploration and the application of new technologies. We work to build new solutions that have the potential to transform how users interact with Google. Our goal is to drive innovation by developing new Google products and capabilities that deliver significant impact over longer timeframes.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $174000 - $253000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain full-stack AI products from initial concept to launch.
  • Explore novel approaches to optimize software productivity and rapidly develop prototypes to evaluate feasibility.
  • Assess prototype performance dispassionately and assist the team in scoping next steps for development.
  • Scale prototypes into robust systems, serving as the owner and builder of end-to-end software systems.
  • Work cross-functionally with experts at Google DeepMind and Labs to apply and develop new algorithms and software tools.
