Staff Software Engineer, Rollouts Sequencing

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development.
  • Experience in software design, architecture, and back-end systems.
  • Experience leading technical projects or teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years in a technical leadership role driving cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.
  • Experience with AI/agentic development, prompt engineering, or leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs)/agentic frameworks to solve ambiguous software engineering or automation problems.
  • Experience designing high-reliability, fault-tolerant systems in a production environment.
  • Deep, hands-on experience developing, deploying, or managing infrastructure on major cloud platforms (e.g., GCP).
  • Fluency in modern programming languages (e.g., Go, C++, Java, or Python).

The Sequencing team plays a critical role in deploying any change to compute infrastructure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Trusted Partner Cloud (TPC), or hybrid environments safely and efficiently through an Application Programming Interface (API)-first, configurable, extensible, and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered deployment platform. We focus on minimizing change-related outages, improving developer experience, and enabling concurrent Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines to meet business needs.

Ireland: €150000 - €153000 (EUR) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy, scoping, and technical outcomes for complex, ambiguous challenges within the Rollouts Sequencing platform, focusing on API-first architecture and extensible policies.
  • Lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable back-end systems and External APIs to support modern, hybrid, and cloud-native deployment environments.
  • Drive the integration of AI/ML methods and agentic development to build an AI-powered deployment experience, reducing operational toil and improving outage detection.
  • Navigate and align strategy across multiple groups, influencing designs and plans beyond your own project boundaries.
  • Foster high technical excellence within the team, leading by example in code health, system maintainability, and architectural simplicity.
