Strategic Partner Development Manager, Google Play (English, Mandarin)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin fluently to partner with local and Asia-Pacific (APAC) clients.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in leading partnerships with mobile games/apps developers.
  • Experience leading and executing successful initiatives with cross functional teams (e.g. product, marketing, GTM, etc.).
  • Knowledge and experience of the broader game industry in Greater China and APAC.
  • Knowledge of mobile apps, apps development, distribution platforms, business models, and value chains.
  • Ability to negotiate partnership agreements, structure agreements, and drive business growth with excellent business acumen.
  • Excellent networking skills with the ability to establish and manage relationships with partners at all levels.

About the job

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.

As a Partner Development Manager, you will be a strategic advisor and advocate for leading Apps developers, fostering their growth and success on the Android platform and Google Play. You will leverage your deep industry expertise and business acumen to forge strong partnerships, negotiate impactful agreements, and unlock new business opportunities for both developers and Google.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the partnership strategy for top app developers in Greater China, identify and prioritize opportunities for mutual growth.
  • Provide data-driven insights and strategic guidance to key partners, develop a fundamental understanding of growth consulting, analyzing key apps metrics to help our partners’ business grow.
  • Work closely with product, engineering, marketing, GTM, StratOps and payment teams to shape platform features and commercial initiatives that benefit both developers and users.
  • Be a passionate advocate for Google Play and Android, driving adoption of strategic products and features among partners.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities in the App industry.
