Vendor Operations Program Manager, Platforms and Devices

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in program management, scaled operations management, extended vendor governance, and strategy operations, including presentation slides design, program plans, and Gantt charts.
  • Experience managing operational processes, SLAs, queue resolution frameworks, and data reporting.
  • Experience building relationships with and managing external suppliers, and driving communication across cross-functional partners.
  • Experience in developing operational documentation, process maps, and presentation decks.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working within a Vendor Management Office (VMO) or a related high-growth technology operations environment.
  • Experience with fiscal management, including OpEx budget tracking, forecasting, and OKR alignment.
  • Experience in process re-engineering, workflow efficiency scoring, and implementing technology-enabled automation solutions.
  • Experience in data analytics and visualization using Google Sheets and Google AI tools to translate complex data into strategic stories.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional leadership and drive initiatives forward without formal authority.
  • Proactive ownership mindset with demonstrated capability to lead high-stakes system implementations and special projects independently.

About the job

As a Vendor Management Office (VMO) Scaled Operations Program Manager, you serve as the strategic "glue" between the Platforms and Devices VMO Vertical and Horizontal teams, internal Product Areas, and external service providers. You drive program outcomes by designing, launching, standardizing, and optimizing the operational processes of vendor and internal teams. You balance high-level strategic alignment with direct operational execution, utilizing comprehensive process optimization methodologies and advanced AI tools to increase workflow velocity, drive cost efficiency, and ensure operational compliance. As a key contributor, you will oversee end-to-end operational governance, maintain robust SLA frameworks, re-engineer complex workflows, and establish efficiency scoring systems across scaled operations.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Drive compliant operations across supplier and internal partners in strict adherence to legal, risk, financial, and privacy guidelines. Lead operations review processes with suppliers and deliver comprehensive business reviews summarizing supplier performance, feedback exchange, and overall scaling strategy.
  • Evaluate, map, and continuously improve business process flows to eliminate operational bottlenecks and increase velocity. Drive feedback loops with service providers and internal stakeholders to simplify complex technical workflows.
  • Identify proper metrics, establish standardized data capture, and build interactive dashboards to monitor program health. Track operational trends in process performance to derive actionable insights and data-driven recommendations.
  • Assess operational workflows to determine optimal timing for process simplification, convergence, or technological automation.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to product area stakeholders, aligning operational strategy with broader organizational goals.
