Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 3 years of experience with full stack development, across the back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Experience in data analytics.
- Experience on android applications.

Google Play Pass is a first-party subscription service offering high-value access to hundreds of curated premium and freemium apps and games completely free of ads and in-app purchases. The platform also expands benefits beyond the classic subscription catalog into Play Pass 2.0, introducing monthly offers, retention mechanics, in-game overlays, and multi-platform distribution on PC through Google Play Games. Play Pass team is responsible for development, evolution, and growth of a subscription with 3M+ members.
The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
Responsibilities
- Build, support, and grow a high-performing team. Be responsible for hiring, performance management, and career development of your team.
- Set the architectural goal for Play Pass back-end infrastructure, multi-surface clients, and promotional engines.
- Collaborate with product, marketing, User Experience (UX), and data science to create impactful features, run broadly available campaigns, and invest in the scalable infrastructure to drive significant growth of the product.
- Set the architectural standards by actively participating in design reviews, mentor engineers on complex, cross-team dependencies, and grow a strong bench of leads within the team.
- Manage organizational dependencies and communication with leadership across Google Play.
