Strategic Partnerships Development Manager, Google Play (Fixed-Term Contract)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking.
  • Experience in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or other advanced degree.
  • Experience managing complex, end-to-end partnerships.
  • Experience working autonomously in a dynamic, ever-changing, and collaborative environment.
  • Experience in mobile app ecosystems or digital platforms.
  • Ability to identify potential business opportunities, assess financial/business benefit, structure agreements, and discuss terms with strategic partners.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

About the job

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.

As a Strategic Partnerships Development Manager, you thrive in a fast-paced environment, and revel in managing big, complex and strategically important partnerships for Google Play. You will pitch and execute agreements and product features, track impact, and have stellar relationship-building skills. You are a strong negotiator, and will provide Google-caliber client service, research, insights, and market analysis. You anticipate how decisions are made, persistently explore and uncover the business needs of Google Play’s key partners and understand how our range of product offerings can help their apps. Working with them, you set the goal and the strategy for the growth of their business.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor global and APAC app market trends, engaging landscapes, and emerging opportunities. Leverage strong knowledge of app development, business models, and value chains.
  • Lead Google Play, Android, and Google TV by driving partners' adoption of strategic AI and monetization features, while utilizing AI for personal productivity.
  • Execute Australia and New Zealand (AUNZ) partnership strategies for top developers. Use data-driven insights to optimize partner businesses and negotiate impactful commercial agreements driving business growth.
  • Manage partnerships as a primary contact. Build influential relationships at all levels and swiftly resolve complex business or technical inquiries.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and GTM teams to shape platform features and commercial initiatives benefiting both developers and users.
