Engineering Manager, GPay Merchant Platform

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript).
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Experience with systems engineering practices, including incident response, monitoring, service-level objectives, and change management.

We support and partner with the commerce ecosystem, from large retailers to small local merchants, to give them the tools, technology and scale to thrive in today’s digital world.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead an engineering team in a fast-paced environment and work together with other Engineering and Product teams to build features from the ground-up for a rapidly growing fintech ecosystem in some of the most vibrant markets of the world.
  • Hire, build, and lead team(s) of high-calibre Engineers focused on building end to end horizontal and vertical products.
  • Partner and Collaborate with cross functional teams and define the engineering strategy and roadmap.
  • Execute on the strategies and roadmap and deliver high-impact solutions for GPay Merchants and beyond.
  • Navigate high ambiguity problems. Come up with innovative ideas, challenge assumptions, and deliver the best solutions for our merchants.
