As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will be at the heart of our mission. You will be driving the successful delivery of complex, cross-functional programs that will impact millions. You will be responsible for leading initiatives that boost our operational speed, land critical engineering milestones, and navigate dependencies across a vast landscape of teams and organizations. You will be working with feature and regional teams to coordinate release activities.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$198,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Support product expansion and feature launches. Drive operational and process improvements to increase product velocity and quality.
  • Analyze data to drive project direction. Contribute with technical solutions to automation, dashboarding, reporting.
  • Develop deep technical knowledge to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and propose solutions for emerging challenges.
  • Manage program tasks and dependencies from identification to completion. Define and implement governance structures for managing risks, postmortems, and escalations. Manage multiple, time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
  • Craft clear communications that synthesize progress, risks, and mitigations. Work closely with partner teams to manage program changes and align stakeholders on decisions and changing circumstances.
