Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Leadership experience (e.g., people management, team lead, mentorship, coaching).
  • Experience with technical conversations, demos, prototyping, or workshops with customers.
  • Experience with data and AI/ML technologies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams, customers, and partners to impact business goals, customer experience, and customer expansion.
  • Experience as a pre-sales manager or technical customer-facing people manager within a professional services or sales engineering team.
  • Experience with data governance, metadata and semantic layers as a foundation for grounding AI agents in enterprise data.
  • Experience driving the adoption of specialized workloads (Cloud AI, Data Analytics) with technical decision makers.
  • Experience tailoring compelling messages by audience, asking strategic questions, and leading conversations that accelerate value realization and business opportunity.
  • Specialized in technical sales and strategizing around holistic customer and industry solutions.

As a Practice Customer Engineering (CE) Manager, you lead and deploy a team of subject matter experts responsible for working alongside our customers to provide trusted technical and solution advice to accelerate workload migration and remove technical blockers. You will foster a culture of technical excellence and understand the mechanics of architecture, delivery, and consumption within your specialized domain and Google Cloud’s products and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Practice Customer Engineers, fostering team culture, talent strategy, and skills development to build AI-ready data foundations that maximize proprietary data value. Foster partnerships and provide thought leadership on data platform strategy, governance, and agentic AI architectures. Partner with Sales on technical go-to-market plans for Data and AI workloads and repeatable solution patterns.
  • Balance technical leadership with operational excellence; lead review meetings to drive technical wins and migration strategies with customers and prospects. Oversee prototyping and proofs-of-concept.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across Google and partners to resolve technical roadblocks and provide field feedback to Product and Engineering.
  • Drive technical positioning against engaging data platforms, lakehouses, and open tables, while activating unstructured and multimodal data.
