In this role, you will help build an intelligent and secure calling experience on Android, leveraging advanced on-device AI to protect users and improve productivity. You will work to ensure every call feels secure, reliable, and personalized, establishing Android as the global standard for safe communication and making Phone by Google a trusted calling experience for over one billion users.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $174000 - $252000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Define the multi-year technical strategy, system architecture, and engineering roadmap for Phone by Google's CallCore platform, focusing on AI-driven feature innovation.
  • Manage, guide, and grow a team of Android software engineers, fostering a culture of velocity, technical precision, and AI fluency using AI-assisted engineering tools.
  • Drive foundational architectural decisions to scale our features across one billion devices, guiding large-scale initiatives in modularization, Jetpack Compose UI architecture, and telecom reliability.
  • Partner cross-functionally with leadership across Product, User Experience (UX), Android OS Platform, Google DeepMind, and major global OEM partners to deliver AI calling innovations
  • Oversee execution of complex technical deliverables from conception to global launch, balancing feature velocity with long-term platform health and mobile performance budgets.
