Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling.
- 8 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols.
- 8 years of experience with coding in one or more general purpose languages.
- 5 years of experience in managing a team of engineers or security professionals for an organization.
Preferred qualifications:
- Technical expertise with threat intelligence, systems and detection strategies.
- Demonstrated expertise in recruiting, building, and managing a team of experienced security professionals on large-scale projects.
- Ability to prioritize and manage across multiple, often time-sensitive initiatives.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to measure and drive success through the production of high-quality threat advisories.
About the job
In this role, you will build and lead the newly established Threat Intelligence Operations (TIO) function based in Singapore. Your primary mission is to forge our threat intelligence strategy and manage a team of Security Analysts dedicated to contextualizing threat intelligence for Alphabet. You will guide your team to provide actionable intelligence to proactively identify coverage gaps and strengthen our defenses against an ever-evolving adversary.As a Security Engineering Manager, you will help defend network boundaries, keep computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and provide security services to protect highly sensitive data like passwords and customer information. You will work directly with network equipment and actively monitor systems for attacks and intrusions. You will also work with Security Analysts and Software Engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities. You will be passionate about intrusion detection and incident response, and are a recognized expert in those fields. You will understand that, despite the best efforts, things go wrong, and you have the technical skills to forge our detection and response strategy, and manage incidents that may affect many teams across Google.The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. Responsibilities
- Manage, build, and onboard a new team of analysts responsible for operational threat intelligence and gap analysis.
- Inspire, grow, and develop talent while setting direction for the team, lead effectively through outcomes rather than tasks.
- Lead Alphabet's understanding of the threat landscape by guiding your team in intelligence aggregation, combining public reporting with internal security data.
- Collaborate well with partner teams, specifically to ensure threat scenarios are integrated into threat catalogues and influence engineering roadmaps.
