Data Center Server Operations Manager, Global Server Operations

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience managing technical teams in charge of installing, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting servers and network hardware and components.
  • 8 years of experience in site-level data center operational leadership and managing technical, vendor, contract management, or delivery teams.
  • 8 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours, including working weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules as required.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in data center environments, including building and operating large-scale infrastructure, and network and compute architecture and lifecycle, and Linux/Unix system administration.
  • Experience leading operations in a 24x7 environment and developing and managing managers.
  • Experience configuring, testing, troubleshooting, or maintaining hardware servers and its components.

About the job

As a Server Operations Manager, you will manage a team of Data Center Operations Managers and Technicians. You will oversee the quality installation of server and network hardware and components, and troubleshoot any challenges. You will manage day-to-day operations and lead the installation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting of our servers. In addition, you will also oversee the deployment of complex network components of the data center, lead teams on larger installations and develop project contingency plans.

In this role, you will oversee day-to-day operations and guide your team through the entire lifecycle of server and network hardware, including installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and decommissioning.

Additionally, you will take charge of complex infrastructure deployments, manage project timelines, and develop robust contingency plans. As a people manager, you will be deeply invested in your team’s professional development and career growth while modeling teamwork attributes that positively impact site culture.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $164000 - $237000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management of teams within data center operations.
  • Work together to identify and resolve problems and create solutions for the global computing and network architecture.
  • Manage the implementation of projects within the team and effectively communicate business priorities and facilitate operations to following shift leads.
  • Hire, coach and develop a team while achieving business goals and demonstrate the ability to implement and drive the safety culture at the site, while fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Ensure data center related priorities are consistent with company objectives.
