Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in software development or embedded software development.
  • Experience in the software development life cycle, commercializing technical product launches, and presenting technical topics and products.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with consumer electronics development and manufacturing.
  • Experience with program management for large/complex software projects that span multiple teams in geographically disparate locations.
  • Experience debugging tough technical issues that cross boundaries between hardware, software and networks.
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively with multiple levels including executive leadership team, managers and junior staff.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Factory Software is the On-Device Software to support the Device Under Test (DUT’s) validation and calibration in the production line to ensure the hardware quality through the NPI stages to mass production.

As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) for Factory Software Program in our team, you will be a crucial player in ensuring the highest software quality for manufacturing our Pixel phones. You will collaborate closely with software, hardware engineering and factory operation teams to optimize and scale factory operations, driving efficiency and excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Software Engineering teams across multiple Google locations to plan for the device bring-up, resolve Factory Software and manufacturing issues. Review and drive software readiness for hardware build milestones.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Hardware Engineering, Quality, Test, Operation Teams and contract manufacturers to implement new technologies, enhance Factory Software quality and test processes, reduce test cycle time and increase yield rate to achieve the best production quality and UPH goals for device launch.
  • Able to travel to external contract manufacturers for a timely management during the critical hardware builds (2-3 weeks).
  • Collate and represent overall Factory Software status within the product area and cross-product area executive leadership, escalate issues as necessary and recommend a way forward. Manage communication of progress and status within the core team and externally(e.g., customers, partners, etc.).
