Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in consumer electronics/embedded system design.
  • 2 years of experience with prototype bring-up, debugging, functional verification, and manufacturing support.
  • 2 years of experience in circuit board level design engineering, including chipset, memory, high speed interface, and power supplies.
  • 2 years of experience working within a lab-based environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with: embedded systems, processor selection, various communication protocols (especially SPI, I2C, UART, USB), analog design, sensor design, low power system design, Cadence/Allegro, RF, and PCB/Flex technologies.
  • Experience with high speed design and standard RF/WiFi interfaces at chipset, baseband, and antenna integration levels.
  • Experience with system integration with software development from firmware through system level.
  • Experience working with OEM/ODM/JDM/CM partners. Understand the product development process for mass-volume production design, with focus on design for manufacturing and design for test.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal teams to evaluate and select components and new technologies for next generation products based on product outlook and end-user experiences.
  • Design, develop, and/or review wearable electrical systems and sub-components from concept to mass production. Perform detailed development by setting factory test requirements, assisting in software bring up, traveling on-site to the manufacturer to ensure the design that is built and tested successfully.
  • Create system specifications and plan/lead validation of your designs. Lead complete functional verification, signal characterization, support system coexistence testing, and power verification.
  • Drive resolution of cross-functional issues including architecture (e.g., performance, power consumption), production (e.g., quality, failure analysis, manufacturing), and development (e.g., schematic design and review, PCB layout, and overall system integration).
  • Work with and manage suppliers/manufacturing partners to establish mutually beneficial relationships for future product designs.
