Product Manager, Operations Solutions

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with financial data, ERP systems (SAP), or vendor management platforms, and successfully bridging financial metrics with operational data.
  • Proficiency in SQL and a strong comfort level querying databases (BigQuery, Spanner) to independently investigate data anomalies, validate pipeline outputs, and prototype data models.
  • Familiarity with BI platforms (Looker, Tableau) and strong understanding of how backend data structures impact frontend dashboard performance and user experience.
  • Deep understanding of SDLC, managing technical debt, deprecating legacy systems, and driving adoption of new foundational platforms.
  • Building or managing tools focused on taxonomy management, metadata governance, or centralized data abstraction layers.

The Partner and Operations Solutions team at Google is responsible for developing and maintaining a suite of critical tools that empower partners and internal operations teams. We build and evolve the platforms that streamline operations, surface actionable insights, and power every stage of the partner lifecycle, keeping operations efficient and partnerships thriving. Our tools portfolio includes Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems , partner-facing tooling, our spend management platform, workforce management solutions, and other productivity-related platforms.In gTech Users and Products (gUP), our mission is to advocate for Google’s users by creating helpful and trusted experiences across the product ecosystem. We achieve this by meeting partners and consumers where they are with support and help, representing their needs with our product partners and proposing fixes and features that elevate their engagement with Google's diverse product ecosystem. Additionally we provide a range of product services that ensure our products are optimized for every user, no matter where they are in the world (e.g., localization, digitization, partner integration and more).Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $163000 - $237000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Develop and advocate product goal, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for the product area, ensuring alignment with gUP goals and stakeholder needs.
  • Drive the roadmap for the Tool Agnostic Data Layer, ensuring it continues to serve as a robust, scalable abstraction layer between disparate operational tools and our centralized data warehouse.
  • Product ownership of gUP's Spend Management Reporting surface, gUP’s unified spend taxonomy framework, and the App Engine application used for metadata governance and taxonomy management. 
  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with the gUP Data Engineering and Analytics teams. You will define technical requirements, guide data pipeline development, and ensure front-end reporting tools are powered by pristine, governed data.
  • Advocate data governance best practices, establish clear service-level agreements for data freshness, and manage complex migrations as we evolve our operational reporting backbone.
