Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, business development, or partnerships in the media and sports industry.
  • 3 years of experience managing people or teams.
  • Experience in financial modeling, agreement structuring, or analysis within the media, entertainment, or technology sectors, and working cross-functionally with finance, product, and business development teams.
  • Experience building and governing forecasting tools, corporate valuation methodologies, or investment analysis frameworks.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience formally managing people or leading project-based analytical pods in an agile corporate environment.
  • Deep understanding of pay-TV, sports rights acquisition and windowing strategies, subscription products (like DTC, Cable/Pay TV), digital media economics, or broadcast/affiliate landscapes.
  • Ability to distill highly dense, quantitative analytical variables into clear operational insights for executive audiences and cross-functional agreement desks.
  • Strong proficiency in advanced business case evaluation and how to manage a team to ensure zero-defect output. Proficiency with output metrics such as IRR, ROI, margin, and more.

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

As head of the Partner and Deal Analysis group within PE&A, you will lead a team focused on strategic analysis throughout the agreement lifecycle — including partner prioritization, development of core assumptions for each content opportunity and securing cross-functional alignment, agreement modeling, and valuation in support of negotiation strategy.

In this role, your team will partner closely with Business Development, Finance, Product, and Go-to-Market teams to support approval processes and drive custom modeling for both opportunistic agreements and novel business concepts, and scale those frameworks when future opportunities arise.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $224000 - $311000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a highly quantitative, analytical team, focused on deep strategic analysis throughout the partnership agreement lifecycle.
  • Experience working directly with C-level executives and managing complex agreements or partnerships.
  • Build, execute, and scale core strategic frameworks for complex agreement evaluations, managing end-to-end modeling, asset valuation, willingness-to-pay calculations, and ensuring alignment with Finance and the organization’s Long-Range Plan (LRP).
  • Partner closely with YouTube Finance to construct, defend, and validate detailed financial models. Drive the application of validation logic, operational benchmarking, and assumption definitions.
  • Serve as the primary analytical bridge working cross-functionally with Finance, Product, Strategic Partner Managers (SPMs), Marketing, Engineering, and more.
