Staff Software Engineer, AI/ML, XR

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 1 year of experience with AI and agentic development.
  • Experience in Swift or other languages/frameworks used in mobile app development (e.g., Kotlin, Dart/Flutter).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
  • Experience in iOS Apps, mobile app development, mobile development, Google mobile apps, Google mobile services.
  • Experience designing and developing frameworks or software development kits, that are reusable and maintainable.
  • Understanding of the challenges in developing for mobile and resource-constrained devices, including managing compute, power, and latency.
  • Excellent design skills.

The team primarily focuses on building AI-powered interactions that allow users to control next-gen devices like glasses and virtual reality (VR) headsets. Bringing the best of Google’s Gemini experiences with multimodal inputs to next-gen devices like glasses and VR headsets.

lightweight XR devices like smart glasses and headsets pair with helpful AI to augment human intelligence, offering personalized, conversational, and contextually aware experiences.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $207000 - $301000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Innovate and architect multimodal problems, own implementation, and delivery of critical features for next-generation intelligent eyewear.
  • Collaborate across organizations and cross-functionally with UX, product, design, research to identify key technologies, establish milestones, and progress solutions from concept to launch.
  • Evaluate and develop technologies and its product application to help support next generation product features, specifications and system architecture.
  • Foster fostering technical excellence, facilitating effective, cross-functional communication and coordination to drive project success and alignment. This space has lots of interesting and impactful engineering problems to solve, and a path to grow.
